Huangdao district, Qingdao city, received government funds to build 10 fishing vessels for marine fishing in the Atlantic and Pacific oceans.

Two fishery companies in Huangdao received government investment of 34 million yuan ($5.5 million) to build 10 new professional fishing vessels with propulsion power of over 2,100 kW. The vessels will be used to fish for mackerel pike and squid in the Atlantic and Pacific, Xinhua News Agency reported on Jan 22.

Huangdao will have 26 long-distance fishing vessels with the addition of these 10.
