Built-up area reached 374.64 square kilometers, up 7.8%. Urban water supply averaged 1,170,000 tons per day, up 4.5%. The actual water consumption for the year totaled 0.37 billion tons, up 5.1%, including 0.149 billion tons for production use and 0.213 billion tons for residential use.
Liquefied petroleum fuel, coal gas and natural gas users numbered 1,369,300. The total supply for liquefied petroleum fuel for the year was 59,700 tons, for coal gas was 79,990,000 cubic meters, and for natural gas was 689,220,000 cubic meters. The urban gas coverage was 100%.
Total heating space increased by 10,600,000sqaure meters to 105,030,000 square meters by the end of the year, up 11.2%.
At the end of the year, there were 263 public bus and trolley lines operating in urban areas, up 15.9%. 5,397 public buses and trolleys were in operation. Taxicabs numbered 9,693, up 0.1%.
Distance covered by roads in urban areas totaled 4,311 km, and 120 roads were expanded and rebuilt. The total length of underground sewers was 6,182 km. A survey showed that the per capita average floor space in urban areas was 27.86 square meters at the end of the year, and the per capita average floor space for rural residents was 33.2 square meters.
