The Organization Committee of the Qingdao International Beer Festival has signed a letter of intent to collaborate with the Organization Committee of the Munich Oktoberfest, aiming to improve the quality and branding of the festival, according to Qingdaonews.com. Residents of Qingdao will thus be able to experience a brand new beer festival in August.

Both parties agreed to cooperate in sharing information and resources and to promote each other locally.

The Munich Oktoberfest, one of the three largest global beer festivals, has a history dating back 179 years.

This year’s Qingdao festival will borrow Munich’s methods of management to provide a comfortable, safe and pleasant place for tourists and local residents.
