Dutch delegation visit Qingdao commerce bureau

The director of the city of Qingdao’s commerce bureau, in Shandong province, Ma Weigang, met with Marleen Zuijderhoudt, president of WestHolland Foreign Investment Agency, Holland, and Henk Kool, former vice mayor of Holland’s Hague, in Qingdao, on Nov 11, which is expected to enhance investment cooperation and deepen economic partnership.

In order to adhere to central government’s proposal of building “One Belt and One Road”, Qingdao takes 39 countries and regions along the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road as its key partners, including Hague, the third largest city of the Holland, after Amsterdam and Rotterdam, said Ma.
Zuijderhoudt extended her thanks to Qingdao government’s warm welcome and painted a picture of the investment environment in West Holland. She said the foreign investment agency will provide preferential policies to attract more Qingdao enterprises.

Qingdao and Hague have enjoyed increased trade cooperation and deepened cultural exchange in recent years. By the end of this Sep, Holland has invested 14 over-ten million projects in Qingdao, with a total contractual amount of $200 million. The two cities signed a cooperation agreement to establish an economic partnership in May of 2013, facilitating the exchanges in tourism, culture and sports. Hague government sent a delegation to take part in the 2014 Qingdao International Economic Partner City Roundtable, a biennial event initiated by Qingdao in August.
