During the crafting period Fu was confronted with many challenges as each character that was created was only about 2.5 centimeters tall, but still modeled with exquisite detail. Some of the animals in the display are as small as a grain of rice.

Fu's dough modeling techniques differ slightly from traditional ones. Over the years she has innovated and finely tuned her modeling techniques in order to bring out more vibrant colors and allow the dough to be preserved for a longer time. Her delicate individual works and figurines of human characters, animals and flowers are often sold at markets in cities up and down the country and even overseas.

Born to a family fond of dough modeling, Fu showed great interest in the handicraft from a young age, observing her mother and grandmother.
