Wen Zhansheng, a male born in Sept 1964, was admitted by the Foreign Language and Literature Department of Jilin University in Sept 1982, and majored in Japanese Language and Literature. He taught Japanese at the Shanxi Mining Institute (currently known as Taiyuan University of Technology) to teach Japanese in July 1986, and was transferred to the Overseas Students Office of Foreign Affairs Department of Shanxi University as a translator in Oct 1986. Since 1988, he concurrently teaches Chinese as a foreign language by giving lectures on teaching primary spoken Chinese, intensive reading, Brief Talk on Chinese Civilization and Translation between Chinese & Japanese, etc. He was awarded “Certificate of Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language’ by the State Education Commission in 1993, and formally transitioned from a foreign language translator into a teacher in 1999, becoming a full-time Chinese teacher for foreigners at the International College of Shanxi University, giving lectures on topics such as primary-level, medium-level & advanced spoken Chinese, writing in Chinese as well as medium-level and advanced Chinese reading to overseas students. He has been focusing on teaching Chinese cultures to overseas students since 2009, and at the same time, he also instructs primary Japanese courses to undergraduates from all departments of Shanxi University since 2011.
