During the month, the province's arts and cultural groups and organizations, including the provincial cultural center, Shandong Liuzi Opera Troupe, Shandong Peking Opera Theater, Shandong Lv Opera Theater and Shandong Academy of Arts, will unveil an array of vibrant artistic performances to enrich the cultural life of Shandong residents and deepen people's understanding of intangible cultural heritages.

Special exhibitions of Weifang kites, interactive teaching of traditional crafts, lantern riddle games and Chinese-new-year blessing ceremonies will also be staged.

Intangible cultural heritage celebrations in different cities

Shandong province cities will carry out a series of intangible cultural heritage celebrations based on their unique cultures.

Jinan will launch several special shows featuring local operas, quyi (a traditional type of ballad singing), and folk music. Exhibitions of traditional folk handicrafts will also take place to honor the city's "craftsmanship spirit".

A lantern festival will be kicked off in Zibo to promote the decorative lantern craft.

Liuqin opera performances will be staged in rural areas of Zaozhuang city.

Paper-cut art exhibitions will be put on in Yantai.

The city of Weifang will mount a joint exhibition and innovation forum of woodblock new year paintings.

Shandong Bangzi and Mount Tai shadow puppet play will amuse residents in Tai'an.
