Tai’an railway station sees travel peak during Dragon Boat Festival

The Tai'an Railway Station, Shandong province transported 55,000 passengers from June 8 to 11, up 42.3 percent over the same period last year, reported the Tai'an Daily.

Each day saw 98 trains arrive at and depart from the station from June 8 to 11.

The number of passengers on June 9, the day of the Dragon Boat Festival, grew by 62.6 percent year on year, the biggest increase since the station came into service.

"The booming tourism in Tai’an has brought in throngs of people in recent years, especially on holidays," Xu Yan, a station staff member told reporters.
