China's Ministry of Railways says the country's railway ticketing system has undergone an overhaul, and online ticket sales will soon become possible.
"Since 2003, China has been speeding up the construction of modern railways. We've invested heavily in the ticketing system, and it could be said that China's railway ticketing system has stepped into the modern era. The Beijing-Tianjin intercity highway adopted many ways of ticket selling, including self-help and online selling, while the Shanghai-Ningbo highway is available for telephone ticket purchases. These are all providing more convenience to passengers," said Li Jun, Official of Ministry of Railways.
