The 14th China-Vietnam Carnival is to open in Ruili, a national development experimental zone in Yunnan province, from Oct 1 to 3, Xinhua.net reported.
“The China-Vietnam Carnival aims to promote friendship between the Chinese and Vietnamese people and to publicize the custom cultures of China and Vietnam,” said Pai Yunxiang, director of the publicity department in Ruili.
This year’s China-Vietnam Carnival features custom activities such as an ox cart show, sepak takraw(a sport from SE Asia) competition, local tastes & delicacies, and market fairs. “Ruili will hold these activities following the principles of diligence and thrift,” Pai added.
The first China-Vietnam carnival was held in 2000 and after 13 years of development, it won the awards of “Yunnan’s annual most influential tourism event” and “The tourism event with the most potential”.
