According to official statistics, the year-on-year increase in the added value of the Yunnan cultural industry has stayed at 20 percent for the last 10 years.

Especially in 2012, the added value of the Yunnan cultural industry reached 63.5 billion yuan ($10.20 billion), taking up 6 percent of the GDP of Yunnan province in 2012.

In 2013, the number of institutes, organizations and companies related to the cultural industry in Yunnan province reached 10,000, realizing an added value of 60 billion yuan, showing that the cultural industry has become a growth point and pillar industry of Yunnan province.

At the same time, cultural consumption per capita was 1,434 yuan in 2013, almost twice that in 2004, and it is still increasing.
