The launching ceremony of the Yunnan International Tea Trading Center was held in Kunming on Dec 23, the Yunnan Daily reported.

Focusing on trade of Yunnan highland agriculture products, the trading center is committed to developing new technologies of tea planting, harvesting, and processing as well as environmental protection.

The center will serve as a channel through which tea companies can exchange ideas based on a common desire to improve quality and enhance efficiency.

The association will work to promote sustainable and healthy development of the tea industry in Yunnan by facilitating companies’ strategic upgrades.

Experts and scholars from the Development and Research Center of the State Council, and the China Tea Marketing Association made keynote speeches at the launching ceremony.

The Yunnan Tea Marketing Association held its annual meeting for 2015 at the same time.
