Dali will host a lantern festival with an area of over 100 acres, and a total of 100 huge lanterns, from Jan 30 to March 10 at the Dragon Oath Movie City, ycni.cn reported.

Various activities will be held during the festival including riddle-solving, folk songfests, folk culture exhibitions, and food exhibitions.

The sponsors will invite colored lantern specialists from Zigong to design the best lantern festival held in west Yunnan in the past ten years.

People will not only see lanterns but will also be able to taste the delicacies of Yunnan. According to Li Yong, general manager of Dragon Oath Movie City, the lantern festival will be divided into Lanterns shows and temple fairs.

All the special snacks in Dali will be available during the festival. Visitors can not only enjoy those but can also guess solutions to lantern riddles, sing folk songs and participate in other recreational activities.

During the festival, tickets are free for locals and senior visitors. For other visitors they will be discounted during the festival from the current Movie City fee of 52 yuan per person.
