A recitation final for Kunming’s teaching staff was held for the sixth successive year on Kunming Educational Television, Sept 13.

Forty seven teachers from Kunming’s 19 counties took part in the final after advancing through the fierce two-month preliminary contests and quarter-finals.

A primary school teacher won the first prize by her excellent performance vividly depicting the difficulty of being a “mother” both at home and in school.

Every participant was required to recite a passage and make a 3-minute speech on stage.

Zhu Bin, Yunnan Radio and Television station’s announcing director, praised the teaching staff saying they have stronger recitation voice control than that of any previous contestants. He also gave some advice on the staging process.

The competition’s top ten winners will be honored publicly in at another skill competition for teaching staff to be staged in Kunming.
