Hundreds of Anhui middle school students visit Zhouzhuang

More than 1,000 students from Feidong Shengquan Middle School in Anhui province paid a visit to Zhouzhuang, the beautiful water town in Jiangsu province, on April 24.

Strolling leisurely along the town's canal-side lanes and alleys, the students were totally fascinated by Zhouzhuang's profound cultural background, well-preserved ancient residential houses and picturesque views.

The 12 traditional workshops on Zhenfeng Cultural Street also aroused the young visitors'great interest during the tour.

A dazzling array of handmade products displayed in the workshops, including embroidered shoes, bamboo weaved baskets and straw mats, seemed to stir the young generation’s memories of craftsmanship in an era where mechanization prevails.
