A lot of local dishes and snacks also gained swift popularity among the visiting guests, such as Wanshan pork hock, one of the most famous local delicacies named after Shen Wansan, the first ever Ming Dynasty (1368–1644) millionaire, and Wadisu, a flat, thin, crisp and oval-shaped pastry.
Meanwhile, the arrival of these young souls also infused a new vitality to the ancient water town. Intermittent giggles echoed with the sound of trickling creek water, producing a joyful melody.
