On 'Masseur in the dark'

Blind massage story illuminating

I believe the story, every word. A lot of people might look normal but are handicapped in some way, maybe their thinking. It is a hard life. I grew up swimming with a blind boy during the summers. It was fun. All the kids showed him the way around and we all sat in the warm sun drying off. He liked reading and carried a library of braille books with him.

I definitely also share the subject of the story's appreciation for a pocket radio. I'm not visually impaired but I really love to listen to short-wave and Radio China. I soak my feet at night and listen to programs from around the world. One thing I noticed is that the reception improves dramatically if you wrap the antenna around a phone wire in the house.

I've visited the Beijing massage hospital for acupuncture and massage after I hurt my back. It's a really good place. Chinese people at the mall in the US get $1 a minute for a massage. I can only believe that the customer will love you if you sing while massaging. The music and tones are healing. This is the new way for plenty of customers and a better life.

Storied day seemed too full

Are you sure all of those anecdotes happened in a day? Or did you piece them together? No offense. But do you think it is too much for a day? New radio, drunk man, old man just lost wife, US girl ... I am not impressed by the story. Sorry. There are hundreds of blind people like that. Actually, not all the blind masseurs are miserable. I met one who has a beautiful normal girlfriend who does not even treat him like a blind person. He has a son too, from the ex-wife. He also dresses neat and smart like a normal person. He loves life and is proud of himself. I think such man is more worthy of a story. What do you think?

I'd love more such insights

Very powerful story. Li Xinchao you are a very strong individual! You give inspiration to others. Do not give up -- I am proud of you.

There are people who sit around, complain, and do nothing with their lives. China Daily please continue to do great stories like this and let readers know how Li Xinchao is doing.
