BJ Foodies, the monthly philanthropy club for lovers of fine cuisine, will hold its August charity meal at Cornerstone, an undiscovered gem in the central business district.
"The cuisine is American Italian cuisine reminiscent of what you all love back home,” said founder Xixi Cheng by e-mail. “Owner Damon Sun has agreed to host our crazy foodies group and come up with an awesome menu of the restaurant's heartiest dishes.”
Cornerstone, a spacious eatery with floor to ceiling windows, has even created a new cocktail for the occasion, called Woot Woot.
All money raised this month will go toward special photography workshops for residents of Anjali House, a registered Cambodian NGO providing food, shelter and education for under privileged children.
BJ Foodies has been running since 2008, hosting its first dinner to raise funds to help victims of the Sichuan earthquake. Since then, it has raised tens of thousands of yuan for various charities.
