Media briefing to focus on cross-Straits issues

The Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, China's Cabinet, will hold a media briefing on Wednesday about issues involving cross-Straits ties. Since the Democratic Progressive Party took over leadership on Taiwan in May, cross-Straits relations have worsened and official communication has been suspended.

In-depth reports on tackling hazardous ozone threat

Excessive ozone has become the prime pollution problem in China, replacing the notorious PM2.5. During warm weather, ground-level ozone increases, and this can curtail lung function and irritate the respiratory system. Henan province to hold major trade fair

The 11th China (Henan) International Investment and Trade Fair will be held in Zhengzhou, Henan province, on Wednesday, highlighting e-commerce, urban planning and the Belt and Road Initiative. The event is expected to attract more than 600 domestic enterprises and more than 200 overseas enterprises from more than 20 countries and regions. The United Kingdom is the guest of honor at this year's fair.

Shanghai park to reopen as culture heritage center

Shanghai's oldest indoor amusement park, Dashijie, or The Great World, will reopen on Friday, more than a decade after it shut down due to poor management. However, it will not reprise its role as an amusement park but as a venue to showcase intangible cultural heritage from around the world. The admission price is 60 yuan ($8.7) per person.
