Vice-Premier Zhang Gaoli begins 9-day trip on Tuesday
Vice-Premier Zhang Gaoli will visit Estonia, Slovenia and Albania, and attend meetings in Russia and Kazakhstan from April 11-19, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Zhang will co-chair the fourth meeting of the China-Russia Investment Cooperation Committee and will meet with the Russian chair of the China-Russia Energy Cooperation Committee. He will also travel to Kazakhstan to attend the eighth meeting of China-Kazakhstan Cooperation Committee.

Raising awareness of Parkinson's disease
Tuesday is World Parkinson's Day, which aims to raise public awareness of Parkinson's disease and promote greater understanding of this condition and how it can affect a person. Parkinson's is a disease in which nerve cells that deliver the neurotransmitter dopamine to other cells are reduced in numbers. According to the National Health and Family Planning Commission, China has about 2 million people with Parkinson's disease, nearly a half of the total number worldwide.
Cross-Straits trade forum to be held in Xiamen
The 2017 Cross-Straits Economic and Trade Forum will be held in Xiamen, Fujian province, on Wednesday to promote cross-Straits trade. Wang Liaoping, president of the mainland-based Association for Economy and Trade Across the Taiwan Straits and Chiang Pin-kung, former chairman of the Taipei-based Straits Exchange Foundation, will attend the event.
