ROK presidential envoy Lee due in Beijing on Thursday

Lee Hae-chan, a former prime minister of the Republic of Korea and a member of the country's National Assembly, will visit China from Thursday to Saturday as a special envoy of new President Moon Jae-in, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Lee will discuss the deployment of the US Terminal High Altitude Area Defense missile system and the ROK's relations with the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Xinhua News Agency reported.

Free admission to mark International Museum Day

Looking ahead

Thursday is International Museum Day. It aims to raise public awareness of museums as important means of cultural exchange as well as the development of mutual understanding, cooperation and peace among peoples, according to the UN. This year's theme is Museums and Contested Histories: Saying the Unspeakable in Museums. Various activities are planned, including lectures. Admission to some museums will be free.

600 companies to attend cross-Straits fair in Fujian

The 19th Cross-Straits Fair for Economy and Trade, an annual event promoting the flow of investment between Taiwan and the mainland, will open on Thursday in Fuzhou, Fujian province. The five-day show is expected to attract more than 600 Taiwan companies.

Qingdao marine and boat show sparks global interest

The 15th China International Marine Fair and China International Boat Show will be held at the Qingdao Olympic Sailing Center in the coastal city in Shandong province from Thursday to Sunday. Boat manufacturers as well as aquatic sports and leisure equipment producers from around the world are expected to take part in the event. The exhibition will cover 10,000 square meters of land and 8,000 sq m of water.
