China's efforts in earthquake zone lauded

Comment on "Hu lends comforting shoulder to survivors" (April 19, China Daily)

In the eyes of Chinese living and working overseas, the Chinese government and the Chinese Communist Party are going above and beyond to help those affected by the earthquake in Qinghai province.

Again I have noticed a handful of foreign media who take advantage of the opportunity to spread lies and deceit in their futile attempt to "tarnish" the Chinese government and the CPC as well as Han Chinese in general.

The truth will speak for itself and those few non-Chinese media that spew lies are not doing the profession of journalism any justice. Luckily, we have CCTV, CRI, Xinhua and China Daily and others to report the truth to the world.

However, overseas Chinese will stay vigilant and guard against these unethical foreign media and expose them for what they are and what they are desperately trying to protect.

What these people will have to learn to accept is that for the first 18 centuries China was at the center of the world. Not so in the 19th and 20th centuries, but it is well on its way to being so again in the 21st century.

China WILL reclaim its rightful place in the world.

THAT is good for humanity and good for the world at large.
