Comment on "All work little play is the norm, pool finds", (China Daily, May 2)
The reality mentioned in the article is very sad. It is staggering that labor unions are too weak to fight for workers' rights. There is no excuse for not letting workers have a weekly break, which is essential for restoring the body and mind. An over-tired worker will make mistakes and will not perform well. This concept seems alien to many Chinese managers and foreign entities managed by the Chinese, The national 2010 labor contract is good, but must be properly implemented under the supervision of the authorities.
