Shandong Lanxiang Vocational School in Jinan, Shandong province, is caught in several scandals involving the school itself and its founder-president Rong Lanxiang. So, instead of giving clumsy excuses for the scandals, Rong should first try to solve the self-inflicted problems, says an article in Beijing News. Excerpts:
Given the scandals that he and his school face, Rong looked like barking up the wrong tree when he blamed evil "foreign forces" that "envy China's vocational education reform" for all his troubles. Such an excuse has made Rong a laughing stock of many netizens. And more importantly, his excuse does not explain the reason behind the scandals.
Rong's "conspiracy theory" is groundless. Why would a foreign power target a normal Chinese vocational school? The school-related scandals, including dividing students for a cross-province head-to-head contest and Rong possessing more than one ID card, however, are hard evidence of the school president's self-inflicted problems, which have nothing to do with "foreign forces".
Given the high popularity (mostly excavator-related) of Rong's school, he should face up to his problems, and cooperate with the investigations. He can start by explaining how he came to possess more than one ID card and why he violated the country's family planning policy to have six children. That will be a much wiser way to deal with the problem and clear the air than giving lame excuses.
