1. A good view of Lake Erhai in Wase Town
Wase Town (挖色镇), about 15 miles away from Shuanglang, is an important town by Lake Erhai. It is a beautiful and abundant place by the east bank of Lake Erhai since ancient times and is one of the cultural birthplaces of the Bai ethnic group with a long history in the Lake Erhai region. With a time-honored history and culture, Wase Town has preserved its residences and temple sites comparatively well and is the center of various long-standing religious cultures. People here mostly live a self-sufficient life and their drinking water is still obtained from wells. A well is shared by several families and a stone cistern is still used for washing clothes.
