Snow covers the roofs of the pavilion and corridor over a pond. The spot is called "The Small Flying Rainbow" in the Humble Administrator's Garden, a world cultural heritage listed by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization. The garden was built in the early 16th century and is the epitome of gardens in southeastern China. Flowing water winds its way around the man-made hills while pavilions decorated by plants and flowers dot the banks of the waterways. It is characteristic of Han ethnic architecture in the region.[Photo by Ling Yifeng] |
