By then, the park will join Swan Lake Park and the City Residents' Park, which runs between Swan Lake Park and the municipal government building complex in the north. This will provide nearby residents a sea of green and make the China Resources Center -- a community of commercial, residential and office buildings and entertainment facilities --- the most beautiful complex in the city to live, work and play.

According to the Hefei Municipal Information Office, park construction will take about four months. The area has been enclosed for construction and the park will open by the end of the year.

So far, the surrounding traffic network accompanying the new park has been completed. Li said there will be 917 underground parking spaces for motor vehicles and 400 parking spaces for non-motorized vehicles.

Currently, the commercial, residential and office buildings, as well as cultural facilities along the axis of the new park, are all built. The new Mixc City, also a community complex, opens today.

Cheng Zhanpeng, who lives nearby, said he is looking forward to the new park, as it is so near his home in the Lakeside Tea City community. "After dinner, I can go for a walk there and do not need to visit the gym," he noted.
