South China tigers back to the wild in South Africa
Guotai, a female South China tiger, hunts an oryx in Laohu Valley Reserve, which covers 330 square kilometers of land in Free State and Northern Cape provinces of South Africa on April 8, 2010. The South China Tiger rewilding program was started by Save China's Tigers Foundation in late 2002. Four tigers have undergone rewilding training in the reserve since 2003. They have learned to cope with the elements and to catch a variety of prey including wild guinea fowl, hares and antelope. [Photo/Xinhua]
