Chinese film director Zhang Yuan is known for his cutting-edge movies about urban China and its youth, many of which are controversial. He is not afraid to tackle issues that are taboo, such as homosexuality and the underground youth culture of China. In this photographic project Unspoiled Brats, he presents stark images of a group of post-80s subjects, each telling their stories in their own words. The stories reflect a brutal honesty and the never-ending struggle to find meaning in their lives.
