JINAN, East China - Chinese international Zhou Haibin is likely to return to Super League side Shandong Luneng after being released by Dutch powerhouse PSV Eindhoven on Monday.
Reports said here that the 23-year-old failed to play a single match for the Dutch side since he left Luneng 10 months ago.
His agent said earlier that Luneng will be Zhou's first choice.
Zhou broke into the Shandong Luneng first team in the second half of the 2002-2003 season, and has been a regular for the Shandong side ever since.
Zhou joined PSV Eindhoven in February 2009 on a free transfer from Shandong Luneng.
On February 7, 2009, PSV Eindhoven officially confirmed the capture of Zhou Haibin on a free transfer on their official website. He signed a one year deal with an option for a further 2 and half year contract extension, and is available to play for PSV immediately.
On October 7, 2009, PSV manager Fred Rutten announced in an interview with AD that the club would not extend Zhou's contract at the end of the current deal, and he was officially released on December 28.
