The Clipper Qingdao Organizing Committee is looking for volunteer families to host 56 crew members from the Clipper for the city’s celebration of the Lantern Festival.

Volunteer families are being asked to demonstrate Chinese traditions and the charm of Qingdao, the sailing city, during the visit by the crew members from around the world.

On Feb 28, the volunteer families will welcome the crew members after docking with the organizing committee and the crew members at the Olympic sailing base. Volunteer families can arrange a variety of activities focusing on rich Chinese traditions and customs for the foreign sailors for the one-day visit.

The Clipper Qingdao Organizing Committee requests that volunteers should have a love for Qingdao’s history and traditions, and that at least one member of the family be able to communicate in English with the foreign sailors.

For more information, go to the home page of Qingdao Volunteer Service Network to download volunteer family application forms and e-mail to clipperfamily@126.com before Jan 26. Telephone registration is not accepted.
