Largest road-rail-bridge to be built in Hubei

Work to build the world's largest road rail bridge, Huanggang Yangtze River Bridge was started on Monday.

With 1215 meters span, including the main span of 567 meters, Huanggang Yangtze River Bridge has a full-length of 4.01 kilometers, which road-rail-section length is 2.567 kilometers.

The total investment is 8.746 billion yuan, which is the biggest investment in history for Huanggang city , an old revolutionary base area. After the completion of the bridge, it will play the role as a channel to cross Yangtze River for intercity rail and highway.

Jingjiu Railway and Wujiu Railway will run through the Yangtze River by the bridge with completion expected in 2014.
