An international semiconductor industry fair is scheduled to open in Suzhou, Jiangsu province on Oct 21 to display the world's advanced technologies including integrated circuit designs, packaging, testing, materials and equipment.
The three-day event, named the 8th China International Semiconductor Exhibition & Summit (IC China), will be held at the Suzhou International Expo Center located at the Suzhou Industrial Park, said Chen Xian, secretary general of China Semiconductor Industry Association.
Chen said China's semiconductor industry is recovering from the global financial crisis which led to a big decrease of IC trade volume last year. "It is the forceful policies and measures the central government took last year that the semiconductor industry was held up by the expansion of home demand," said Chen.
The event is sponsored by China Semiconductor Industry Association, CCPIT Electronics & Information Industry Sub-Council and Suzhou municipal government.
"Holding such a fair is a stimulus to the country's effort to step up its economic construction," he said.
According to Jiang Guanxiong, Vice President of CCPIT Electronics & Information Industry Sub-Council, the fair will not only showcase the achievements China has made in the semiconductor industry but also give prospects for its expansion in this field in the next five years.
Jiang said many world-renowned semiconductor manufacturers will be invited to the exhibition and sophisticated IC solutions will be on display. Summit conferences will be held to coincide with the fair to discuss the development of the global semiconductor industry, advanced technologies, IC designs and energy-saving.
