The 5th Yunnan International Pu'er Tea Expo will run from April 12 to 15 at Kunming International Exhibition Center.

The tea expo will last until April 15th. More than 200 well-known enterprises and institutions related to the planting, distribution and packing of tea, as well as tea culture will be present during the expo, bringing together tea lovers from near and far.

Insiders said the output of Yunnan's Spring tea dropped due to the drought but that will not affect the expo seriously because Spring tea amounts of 20% to 30% of the total tea output.

As the country's second-largest tea production base after Fujian province, Yunnan produces about 180,000 tons of tea a year and spring tea accounts for up to 30 percent of the annual amount.
