6. Strengthening trademark publicity, professional training and improving trademark supervision capacity In 2009, China AICs had adhered to a new trademark strategy promotion pattern, i.e. guided by the government, supported by mass media and participated by the public, organized a series trademark publicity campaigns, effectively creating a favorable social atmosphere for trademark development and protection. At the same time, they have strengthened trademark professional training, professional team building, and ability improvement of its staff.
Sichuan AIC organized an essay contest entitled as “Geographical Indication, Trademarks and Me" and a knowledge contest about trademarks among the high-school students in the whole province, aiming to help the students have a better understanding about the distinctive agricultural resources around them and the Trademark Law, and even wishing to attract their parents to know trademark and relevant knowledge.
June 2009, Shanghai Introducing Meeting of Qinghai Brand Goods was held by Qinghai AIC. Qinghai AIC held an exhibition about achievements achieved in implementing the trademark strategy in the province during its Trademark Demonstration Conference period, and actively promoted "going out" strategy for Qinghai trademarks. In 2009, for example, Qinghai Trademark Promotion Exhibition was successfully held in Shanghai themed as "Beautiful Qinghai, Distinctive Trademark".
Chongqing AIC co-hosted the International Forum on IP Strategy Implementation and Trademark Law Revision with Southwest University of Political Science and Law as well as IPR Special Committee of China Society of Judicial Studies, again expanding the impact trademark strategy. Hunan Provincial AIC and IPO held a launching ceremony at Hunan University for 2009 Hunan Publicity Week of IPR Protection. With the support of Hunan AIC, the Hunan Information Office held a press conference for Hunan well-known trademarks and published the cultivation and determination of Hunan well-known trademarks.
AIC of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region sponsored a forum named as Inner Mongolia Trademark and Advertisement, participated bywell¬known and famous trademarksowners and some advertising companies in Inner Mongolia. In this forum, the top ten trademark agencies introduced the April 2009, Inner Mongolia AIC organized training on farm and sideline product trademark, geographical indication, certificate and collective trademark knowledge.
Issues and countermeasures in trademark registration, application and protection to the enterprises with well-known and famous trademarks from Hohhot, and answered their questions.
Shanxi AIC organized trademark professionals to conducted three lectures in Xi’an, Ankang and Yan’an respectively to popularize knowledge of the April 21st, Shaanxi Government Information Office held 2008 press conference on Shaanxi Intellectual Property Rights Protection.
