Situated in northern part of Henan province and built in 1957, Hebi city has an area of 2182 km and a population of 1.5 million.
Hebi comes from a legend 'red-crowned cranes once perched on Nashan cliff in front of the orignal city'. It has a long history with many interesting places and historical relics. The great Buddha Stone Statue at Dapi Mountain was built 1600 years ago and is honored as the statue of the oldest in China.
Qihe River is the only unpopulated river in North China. The Book of Songs, the earliest collection of Chinese herbal medicine in Zhou Dynasty (1122-771B.C.) contains many pieces singing the prases of its beauty.
Hebi has been making rapid economic and social developments. According to the strategic plan of 'building large cities, and developing great industries', Hebi adheres to scientific development to take a new road of industralization, change the mode of economic growth effectively, and promot industrial upgrading vigoriously.
The location of Hebi is of great advantage and has convenient transportation. Beijing-Guangzhou Railway, Beijing-HK-Macau Highway, 107 National Road, Shiwu Passenger Line run from north to south. Yuyang-Hebei Highway, Hebi-Huixian Highway, Hutai Road and Railway for coal transportation across central and southern Shanxi province run from east to west.
Hebi is a modern city with livable ecology, perfect function and distinct features. Functional area of intergrated services, 'A River and Five Parks' project, infrastructure are accelerating. Green mountain forest, foreset city, ecological corridors are under construction.
