Zhou Hao, 55, a brain surgeon at the Qidong Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, died on the way to visit his patient in hospital as he got a call from families of his patient despite he was laying in sick bed after having gone through an operation on vesical calculus.

"I opened the store to provide convenience for people, not for making money," said the 70-year-old Chen Bingtang, whose small grocery remains unchanged since it opened 20 years ago. For more than 20 years, he lives a simple life on porridge and pickles but managed to donate over 200,000 yuan in helping others.
