History
On Dec 6, 1991, the Management Committee in Yizhuang industrial park(predecessor Of Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area) was officially established and officially approved by the People's Government of Beijing Municipality.
In 1992, Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (BDA) officially started construction.
On August 25, 1994, the area was approved as the national level economic and technological development zone in Beijing.
In June 1999, Zhongguancun Science and Technology Park was approved by the State Council to set up a branch in BDA.
In January 2007, Etown, (a new area compriseing BDA, and part of Daxing district and part of Tongzhou district) as the hinderland of BDA,received formal approval from the People's Government of Beijing Municipality.
In early 2010, Daxing district and BDA integrated their administrative resources. The effect known as 'one plus one is more than two' made its first appearance.
At the beginning of China's 12th Five-Year Plan Period(2011-16), the area was built into a cluster district of high-tech manufacturing industries and strategic emerging industries in south Beijing.
