Walmart and JD have launched an Aug 8 shopping festival as part of their efforts to further enhance the integration of customers, stores and inventory as well as to deepen their collaboration on retail supply chains.

Chinese automaker Beijing Automotive Industry Corporation (BAIC) on Tuesday rolled the first car off production line in its South African plant near the car export hub of Port Elizabeth.

China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission, the country's banking and insurance regulator, gave green light to China's e-commerce giant JD to invest 483 million yuan ($71.12 million) into Allianz China General Insurance Company Ltd for a 30 percent stake in the company on July 24.

E-commerce giant JD has received the regulatory nod to buy a 30 percent stake in the Chinese unit of global insurance company Allianz SE, furthering its push into the country's financial services sector.

Chinese automaker BAIC Group, or Beijing Automotive Group Co Ltd, climbed 13 places to No 124 in the latest Fortune Global 500 list released on July 19, 2018, with sales revenue of $69.59 billion last year. Xu Heyi, chairman of BAIC Group, said the company is aiming for the top 100 in 2020 at a corporate news conference on July 20.

BDA-based Centrin Data Systems is to partner with Tencent Cloud on data centers and cloud computing with an agreement signed between the two parties on July 10.
