Flight schedulead justments for PVG
China's aviation administration recently announced its winter-spring flight schedule for the city of Shanghai's Pudong International Airport (PVG), which took effect on Oct 30 and last to March 25 of next year, with some flights rescheduled to increase the frequency of flights and with some seasonal routes cancelled.
There will be some more flights during the peak tourist season, both locally, to Hong Kong and Macao, and internationally, to Southeast Asia and Australia and New Zealand. The routes to Sydney and Melbourne, Australia are on China Eastern Airlines and now fly twice a day. The airline also says it will restart a flight to Brisbane, Australia, from Dec 16 and, on its European routes, it has adjusted some aircraft types.
Flights to Bangkok, Thailand, operated by Shanghai Airlines, are now scheduled for five times a day and a new route to Chiengmai, Thailand will take off once a day.
Other airlines such as Air China plan to open a route to Barcelona, Spain and add more flights to Milan, Italy and Frankfurt, Germany. At the same time, Japan's Peach Aviation will be opening new routes from Pudong to Osaka's Kansai International Airport and Tokyo's Haneda Airport. And, a new flight from Spring Airlines will connect Shanghai and SuratThani, Thailand.
Spring Airlines has also decided to move the Shanghai-Changsha-Xishuangbanna flight and Shanghai-Qingyang-Yinchuan flights to Shanghai's Hongqiao Airport instead of Pudong.
Most changes on domestic routes mainly involve more flights to the south. So, while Juneyao Airlines has opened flights to Xi'an and Mianyang, it also added flights to popular vacation destinations like Haikou and Sanya, Hainan and Nanning. China Southern has started a flight to Chengdu, Sichuan every day and four flights to Urumqi, Xinjiang every week, while flights to Jieyang, Guangdong province, and Zhengzhou, Henan province have been moved from Shanghai's Hongqiao Airport to Pudong.
