Han culture park opens in PVG
Han Dynasty (206 BC-AD 220) culture was unveiled in Shanghai Pudong International Airport (PVG) on April 26, following the opening of Jiangnan and European-style gardens.
Located near boarding gate D90 in Terminal 2, the park uses elements of Han Dynasty gardens featuring purple, red, grey, and sandy tones.
Landscaped courtyards with provide an area for passengers to rest among art exhibits, chiming bells, drums, and models in traditional Han dress (hanfu).
The park will also have areas where children can learn more about tradition al Chinese culture, as well as wall against which to take selfies.
A hanfu parade at the airport last year proved a success, which spurred the development of the park, and will return shortly as a part of the airport’s expanding cultural calendar.
The park, along with a museum, art gallery and other cultural facilities, create a large scale public cultural landscape in the airport and provides a platform for cultural exchanges between China and other countries.
