LONDON - Marco Fu won his first ever match in the SAGA Insurance Masters by beating Steve Daivs 6-2 at Wembley Arena on Monday.

The 30-year-old from Chinese Hong Kong, who had lost in the first round in all of his previous three Wembley journeys, is now through to the last 16 and a match against Neil Robertson of Australia.

Six-time world champion Davis had plenty of chances to win the match but struggled with his potting and was unable to build any significant breaks.

Fu, taking advantage of Davis' errors, made four breaks of more than 50 and had one run of 104 for the win although he was also far below his best.

"I played ok, I lost control of the cue ball in the middle of the match but I got better towards the end," said Fu.

"Steve had his chances but he missed some easy balls. I had to rely on his errors rather than making my own chances."
