Zheng, a semifinalist at Wimbledon Open 2007, secured her spot in the second round with a 0-6, 6-1, 6-2 victory.
She will next face either 24th seeded Spaniard Maria Jose Martinez-Sanchez or Russian Evgeniya Rodina.
