World record holder Usain Bolt and Liu Xiang have confirmed their participation at the IAAF Diamond League meeting in Shanghai next month.
It will be Liu Xiang's first outdoor competition of 2010, since his return from injury.
Liu Xiang's coach, Sun Haiping, hopes the athlete can recover before the meet.
"At present, Liu Xiang is making a good recovery. He still has an aching pain, but it is getting better. I believe it will heal as the weather turns warmer", said Sun.
Reigning 100m world champion Usain Bolt will also take part in the inaugural Shanghai meet.
The 2010 IAAF Diamond League circuit begins on 14 May in Qatar, and will be held in 14 cities around the world, with a one-day event at the Shanghai Stadium on 23 May.
