All-Star point guard Chris Paul appeared to be on his way to Los Angeles Lakers in a three-team deal between Los Angeles, the New Orleans Hornets and the Houston Rockets, but it appears the NBA has blocked the deal, according to media reports on Dec 8, 2011.
The deal which would have seen the Lakers acquire Paul from the Hornets for power forwards Pau Gasol and Lamar Odom in the deal just before the delayed start to the season may be stalled with calls for the NBA to intervene.
According to widespread reports, other owners in the league complained about the deal, so commissioner David Stern nixed the trade made by the league-operated Hornets (the team is currently being run by the NBA until a new owner can be found).
Yahoo! Sports claim that the trade will send Gasol to the Rockets, while the Hornets would pick up Odom, Kevin Martin, Goran Dragic, and Luis Scola.
