BUENOS AIRES - The election of the successor to Jacques Rogge as International Olympic Committee (IOC) president was over after one candidate obtained majority votes in the second round of voting in Buenos Aires on Tuesday.
The six candidates are German Thomas Bach, Singapore's Ng Ser Miang, Wu Ching-Kuo of Chinese Taipei, Richard Carrion of Puerto Rico, UKrainian Sergey Bubka and Swiss Denis Oswald.
Wu was eliminated after the first round, tying for last place with Ng, but garnering less votes than his Singaporean colleague in the run-off.
