Wong will lead legal and compliance affairs across Greater China
BEIJING – NBA China announced today that Ella Wong has been appointed Senior Vice President and General Counsel, NBA China.
Wong will lead NBA China's Legal department and oversee all legal work across a variety of league businesses including consumer products, marketing partnerships, digital and television, throughout Greater China. She will report to David Shoemaker, CEO of NBA China.
Wong joins NBA China from 21st Century Fox (formerly News Corporation), where she most recently served as Regional Counsel, Asia, and was responsible for leading the company’s legal and business affairs efforts in Asia, including Greater China.
Before this role, Wong held the positions of General Counsel, Asia of News Corporation and Executive Vice President and General Counsel of Star Group, a subsidiary of News Corporation, providing legal support on key mergers and acquisitions, partnerships and commercial operations.

Prior to joining 21st Century Fox in 1997, Wong worked in the New York and Hong Kong offices of Winthrop, Stimson, Putnam & Roberts, a New York-based international law firm in the areas of corporate finance, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions.
Wong received a bachelor's degree from OxfordUniversity in England and is a graduate of Columbia University School of Law in New York.
