Xiapu. Wooden houses and seafood farms float on the sea in Xiapu county, Ningde, East China's Fujian province, October 2, 2013. The fishing village on the sea is referred as the "Offshore Venice" by tourists. Before houses were built along the beach, most fishermen lived on boats for generations by collecting marine products. Many of them still live on boats. Xiapu has the country's largest mudflat, rich in sea products and especially kelp, laver and oysters. [Photo/IC] |
