In five years, tourists are expected to access free WiFi at all 3A and above scenic spots in China, according to a release issued by the China National Tourism Administration (CNTA).
Under the topic of "Internet plus tourism", the CNTA looks to fully integrate tourism resources in the industry while connecting the tourists with their destinations via the Internet by 2020.
Besides 3A and above scenic spots (on a scale of 1-5), all the three-star and above hotels will offer free WiFi.
Tour buses, ships, and any scenic spot with a rating of 4A and above will be equipped with video surveillance in efforts to ramp up safety measurements.
According to the memo, the country's tourism head will use the Internet to promote "civilized tourism", and will publish the "incorrect tourism behaviors" to the public.
