In 2016, about 2.67 million people visited Haining city, boosting the region's rural tourism, which generated revenue of about 400 million yuan into the city.
Taoyuan village, in Yanguan town, has also been awarded as a national-level civilized village in China in February 2015. New villas were built in the area, as well as support facilities including a fitness center and kindergarten, which made Taoyuan village quite a livable place.
